COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENTS FROM BOARD PRESIDENT MARIA HILTON

Dear MPCSD Community Members,
I write to share that the School Board met this morning and appointed Erik Burmeister to serve as Temporary Superintendent during Maurice Ghysels short-term medical leave. Erik immediately assumes the role of administrative designee for District operations and will serve as the District's liaison to the School Board. In line with our current practice, inquiries to the Superintendent's office should be addressed to Lanita Villasenor, Executive Assistant to the Superintendent, atálvillasenor@mpcsd.orgOnce again, we all wish Superintendent Ghysels well.

I am writing to share with the community that Superintendent Maurice Ghysels is on a short term medical leave. I know that the Board, staff and community all wish him a speedy recovery.áThe Board will meetáMonday, Marchá2ndáat 8:00 a.m.áin the District Office to discuss how the functions of the Superintendent will be performed during his absence. Weáplan to send out a communication to the community following that meeting.


2015-16 CALENDAR and 2016-17 START DATE

Pending School Board approval at the March 10 Board meeting, theá2015-16 school year will begin onáTuesday, August 25, 2015CLICK HERE TOáVIEW THE 2015-16 CALENDAR.áTheá2016-17áschool year will begin onáThursday, September 1, 2016. The full calendar will be released once finalized and approved by the Board.
Rainy Day Before School Procedures
If it is raining before school, all students report to the multi. At 8:10, third grade classrooms open and students in third grade head to their classrooms. At 8:20, K-2 classrooms open and all Kindergarten, first, and second graders go to their classrooms at that time. For safety, students are to walk only on our paths when it is raining.
